The 75th Airlift Squadron (75 AS) is part of the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. It operated C-9A Nightingale aircraft providing theater medivac airlfit in Europe.

History

The 75th conducted operational training and air transport of cargo during World War II. Postwar, the 75th was assigned to the 316th Troop Carrier Group (9th AF) supporting airborne operations at Ft. Bragg and Ft. Benning. It began airlift to Alaska and throughout the Pacific in 1952. The squadron flew almost exclusively to Southeast Asia, October 1965-April 1975. It also supported operations in Panama, 20 December 1989 and ongoing military operations in Southwest Asia since August 1990.
